| Description: | | The successful candidate will have come out of the construction and building industry.
Leads by example and demonstrates enthusiasm in the workplace.
Manages multi-disciplinary teams in order to deliver complex projects within the construction and building design industries.
Identifies and staffs projects with appropriate personnel.
Usually will manage teams for up to 4 clients of larger size and scope.
Works with Group Manager in order to staff assigned projects.
Engages in ongoing communication with team members, senior personnel and clients regarding project status, technical issues, problem resolution and project related questions both orally and in writing.
Provides input and feedback to facilitate performance management.
Provides timely feedback to individuals on project performance.
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
Ensures administrative paperwork such as expense sheets, logs and files are accurate and up to date
Sets up and maintains project files.
Ensures project administration is complete, including terms and conditions, invoicing, change notices, and so on in congruence with project deadlines.
Manages resources to meet project deliverables.
Tracks project hours against plan and implements changes or modifications as necessary.
Participates in strategic planning, strategic initiatives, and other activities that build the company as appropriate or requested.
Manages or participates in A/R (Accounts Receivable) as appropriate or requested.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Implements BDA processes to identify and pursue additional work with existing clients or develop relationships with new clients.
Participates in proposal writing and preparation including client presentations.
Maintains direct contact with key clients
Actively seeks opportunities to expand business with existing clients both for own division and other of our divisions.
Works on developing relationships with new clients, identifies and communicates potential opportunities for new business.
Actively seeks proposal reviews.
Provides peer proposal review as requested.
CLIENT SATISFACTION AND QUALITY
Ensures technical accuracy of project deliverables.
Understands and follows quality standards.
Evaluates project against quality standards and ensures client satisfaction.
Maintains regular contact with clients and exemplifies the trusted advisor.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND DELIVERY
Project Management
Responsible for the technical accuracy and competency of project deliverables.
Ensures project milestones are met on time and within budget.
Manages projects which are often multi-year in scope and have billing value in excess of $500,000.
Demonstrates the ability to manage projects involving multiple engineering disciplines.
Utilizes the companys project management systems and tools to ensure all project documentation is accurate and up to date for project monitoring and tracking including terms and conditions, project plans, change notices, and so on.
Project Delivery
Responsible for the technical design for major projects, often involving multiple drawings, technical complexity, high project value, and multiple trades.
Works independently to complete the design on time and within budget.
Other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
Participates in Knowledge Management activities and projects as appropriate and agreed upon.
Keeps abreast of technical developments.
Captures best practices.
Identifies current and future development needs both personally and for team members on projects.
Provides input to improve processes.
Mentors and trains other PMs in project management.
OTHER
Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Fully qualified engineer with professional designation
7 to 10 years engineering experience
Ability to communicate technical material
Strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrates accuracy and good documentation skills
Skilled in the application of tools and methodologies used for product and service delivery such as Autocad, Drawing Standards, Plotters, office productivity applications, and so on.
Training in Project Management.
